What is the difference between regular Grazon and Grazon P&D?

I'm not overly sure. But I know I've used Tordon on stumps and brushy type stuff like small hardwoods with excellent results. I think the 24d is just gonna give you a little wider range on the broadleaf type plants than Grazon alone.

Grazon is not your friend it can't tell the difference in good and bad seed.
Quit using it years ago just use 2-4-D and remedy haven't had to replant rye or clover since I quit.

P stands for picolarm (spelling) has a residual effect on sprouting seeds.
D stands for 24d
Advantage is it kills the plant and a good portion of the seed bank.
As jmj said it also has a wider effect. Works well on small cedar and prickly pear for example.
As long as I spray it in May or June I have seen no effect on ryegrass the following fall.

Would putting picloram in with you 24d do the same thing? Sounds cheaper to me.

I am spraying some new pasture that I aquired that has been highly neglected. There is little to no clover, and it has quite a large amount of some rough briars and sprouting trees. A friend told me to hit it with Grazon P&D for the first year, but he didn't know what that P&D was for, so I didn't just want to trust his judgement.

Metcel is cheap and is highly effective on briars, dogfennel, etc. in Bermuda but it will kill Bahia grass. Element 4 is also very good for small trees, brushy stuff, etc. I'm not sure which route is cheaper. I'd probably try straight 24d and then see what I had left to deal with. FWIW, don't use any 24d if you have any melons within 5 miles. Won't have to worry about cotton yet.

Do you have a source for pure Picloram. I would love to have some to spice up some mixtures.

P + D seems to work a little better on the briars and woody plants. Next works very well on Milkweed which was my problem for years. They both will knock the heck out of your broad leaf weeds. In your situation the P +D sounds like it would work best to use immediately. Maybe follow up with straight 2-4 D later in the year when you don't really get your moneys worth out of the soil residual.

I've never seen 100% picloram. Just buy some tordon
