GPS on cell phone

For the ones of yall that have Verizon cell phones you can get GPS on them. I be wanting to get GPS but Its cheaper to get it on my phone. So I was wounding if someone has it and how good it is? Thanks ;-)

We don't have it on a cell phone but have it in the truck...dear Lord if that thing ever goes out we're going to be lost...I'd say go for it... GPS is an amazing deal... we've navigated around places (New Orleans) where we'd normally not have a clue.

You really want something that allows your location to be apparent to whoever you call?

I haven't kept up with the cell phone folks but the last time I checked into it the GPS thing it was for locating YOU during a 911 emergency. It is not an option anymore (I don't believe) to have it or not. It's part of the new phones.

I don't know if the Blackberry's or Iphone's have a user available GPS or not but they do have the 911 GPS.

Earl... I'd never thought of it that they could locate YOU... ours is a Garmin GPS (cost around $500). It is dash-mounted in the truck (not on our phone). Our work takes us all over Southern Illinois so we plug in an address and it takes us right there... which is what I thought she was wanting (only on her phone). We went on a cruise last month and due to a marathon that was going on downtown New Orleans we couldn't go the original route to the ships port so we went around the marathon and it "recalculated" and took us right there...NEAT!!
