The big shitty😂😂 I’m stealing that one! That’s a good score on the log splitter

He was speaking as polite as is possible when addressing that community. I was born and raised about 30 miles south of there. Lived about 60 miles south of there for nearly 40 years. Around 2005 I decided it was against mt religion to cross the King county line.

I visited Seattle a few years ago, was shocked by all the graffiti, especially the ones insulting veterans.

I'm over there (9 miles over salt water separates me) all the time for medical reasons. It used to be just drunk natives in the 60"s 70"s now it's total drug infested in some areas. I could take you over there and avoid all the BS or I could show you shyt you would not believe, 3rd world crap almost .

It wasn’t free, but it was a score. About 20 years ago I was listening to our community swap shop on the radio and someone was selling a rear tine walk behind garden tiller, Troybilt, not running, $40.

I was curious because I recognized the callers voice but couldn’t place it, so I called the number and it was Fred from church. Sure enough, it needed an engine, but was happy to pay him for the platform.

Every big city has a shady side. I like to walk about when visiting big cities, been told I’m naive, but like to think I can take care of myself. Also generally careful to only carry a few bucks, a credit card and a room key, just in case. Never felt unsafe in Seattle that time, but had suffered a head blow only a couple days before, so was extra careful where I went. Walked down to a fish market, walked to the space needle. In my experience, the homeless in Washington City have been the most aggressive in asking for handouts. Witnessed an interesting situation a few weeks ago in DC.

A group of us went out for supper, wife didn’t go with, asked if I’d bring her back a burger. We walked right past a McDonald’s on the way, figured a quarter pound meal deal was a safe bet. On the way back a few hours later, three cop cars sitting out front, oh boy! I can’t go back empty handed, poke my head in the door, are you open? Yep, come on in. Cops and National Guard troops, maybe a dozen in all, a fellow handcuffed in a chair, loudly proclaiming he didn’t do nuffin, as the police interviewed witnesses. I noted he didn’t appear to be injured, obviously nothing wrong with his lungs. From what I gathered, he had entered while brandishing a knife. Before leaving, I thanked the officers for a job well done.

Sounds like some of my early travels to big cities. I don’t miss it. I’ll leave it for others and keep my hillbilly arse at home.

I used to love to travel anywhere...now I avoid traffic. To many things to worry about when travelling. Not even worried about out there, it's the farm I can't keep my mind off of. Home is now my favorite place.

The kids want to go camping soon in Idaho and the only reasonable, direct route will be going through Salt lake Shitty... otherwise known as the "metroplex". Daytime traffic is intense no matter when it is. I think we are going to wake up way early (2AM) and try to get through it before 5AM. I don't like crowded highways and all of them are more crowded every year.

I have kids who live south of Olympia WA. I-5 is now a zoo. I have told them if they want to see me to come down here. if I am headed east I go through long scenic routes to avoid driving the freeway through Boise.

I’ll be in Indianapolis this evening thru Friday for a conference. I’ve been warned parts of which are unsafe for a country boy to stroll in. No different than Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Toledo, etc. At this stage of my life, I enjoy visiting, and then coming back home.

My neighbor asked me if I wanted a nearly new log splitter for free. It was a hour away over on the Dark side (Seattle area) . Well worth the trip to the big shitty I View attachment 68114thought. Works great.
Same one I have and it works great. I used the stand up feature it saves my back from having to lift the logs up onto it
