I sold and bought one today.
Sold black bull calf- weighed 470 brought 2.425 per lb and $1,139.75 before commission. He wasn't as old as my others but I think it was okay to pull him off his momma. He was 6 months.
I bought a red speckled heifer who looked Shorthorn x Gert as she was penned with other shorthorns. Weighed 455 and brought 2.20 per lb. I payed $1001 and used the money from that bull calf, so after that I came out with $91.10. I needed one to replace an old cow I sold and I seen her while dropping off calves yesterday and decided I wanted her. She's pretty young. We will see how she turns out.
Sorry for the bad quality picture and also the old feed trough. We are waiting to buy concrete ones because we are planning to build a new corral in the future. :roll:
