So as many know, my truck burned. New truck bought. In the fire my trailer got scorched pretty good due to spare tire on bed and wind blowing fire into the trailer. I bought a new hitch for it because I don't want to chance that cast having gotten to hot and breaking under heavy load. New hitch has a set screw/bolt and a cross pin through whole hitch. Old hitch only has the set screw. Question being should the tube that welds on be safe and just use new hitch in the old tube? I can weld pretty good but I hate to cut it out and trust my welding on something pulling that much weight and $ worth of stuff besides my new truck. It's an old trailer, 20ft Coose. Got a friend going to paint it, next nice weekend
