Heard on the news tonight that a fella woke up in the middle of the night and felt like he was supposed to send hay to the cattle ranchers in Colorado(the ones that have had all that snow). He told his family that morning that they were loading hay to take there and he and a friend spread the word and other people donated hay and one guy sold some to them for 1/2 price. He said they got enough to feed 21,000 cows for a day. He said he felt like God was telling him to do this. Isn't that wonderful considering how hard Texas has been hit?
 
Wow! I haven't heard that but being in Erath County, I'm gonna check it out. I just bought alfalfa mix for $8.50 a bale from an individual. He was also selling alfalfa for $10.50 a bale. He had large bales that he said equaled 22 small bales that he was selling for $120/large bale. In comparison to the feed stores, I still got a deal on the $8.50 a bale (I'm using it for 2 rescue horses). Fortunately, we have plenty of grazing for the few cows we are running.

The guy that is doing this act of kindness deserves an award, and he and the other contributors deserves some monetary back up from the rest of Erath County farmers and ranchers that can afford it. God love 'em all!

It was on a local ABC news station. Channel 8 WFAA out of Dallas. TV just happened to be on that channel-don't normally watch them for news. I couldn't find the story on their website. Maybe it will be back on the news tonight.

I guess I am going to have to watch that. Everything around here is way short on hay. Everyone is asking and I don't have any left to spare. I am just east of Erath County. Which makes this all the harder to believe. Of course, '06 wasn't nearly as bad as '05. Atleast there is hay to be had this year.
