we got a contract with a seed company to get there cull milo its pretty clean and it hasnt been treated or anything what do yall think? oh yea its free! and a lot of feed
 
What is it? Protien is not very high. Is protien Rumen degradeable or nondegradeable. Could be good feed but what are the other nutrient factors. NDF? ADF? TDN? Free may be good or may hurt especially if you have to start venting gas.
 
As valuable as byproduct feeds are right now-- with corn being so high
I am very suspect of why it is free............

Only reasons I can think of
Its such a small amount no one else wants to bother with it
Its a hassle to handle/store/keep fresh
Its got issues that make it lacking/worthless as a feed source.Being overly contaminated with ash products( ex dirt) comes to mind.

Then you may have just lucked into a good deal/I'd be checking real hard though to make sure.
 
It's enough if your just maintaining the cattle. Is this pretreated grain? GMO? What grain (corn, wheat, maize) is it?
Sounds like a good deal to me.

Depending on what your needing the feed to do it will work alone or as a base for a mixed ration. Sounds like the kinda deal most would like to come across.

Monsanto is so much larger than just floor coverings. I'm going to guess this free milo is a GMO and has not yet been approved for human consumption alot like Garst's Starlink corn was not approved for human consumption. Monsanto is just trying to stop another Starlink ordeal before it starts by giving it away to livestock producers instead of letting it enter the food chain like the starlink corn did. I imagine it clearly states in the contract he has signed with Monsanto it is to be used for animal consumption only and he will be liable for any milo that enters the food chain for human consumption. Atleast that is the way our contract with them read.
