We rolled the dice after a dry late spring and planted some Wrangler bermuda seed on about 20 acres. We've never planted a coated bermuda grass seed before. How much moisture does it take to germinate a coated seed? We had 1.15 inches scattered over the week of Memorial Day , another 2.7 inches last Wednesday and Thursday and rain is in the forecast for tomorrow and Wednesday, thank the Lord. I know with non- coated seed that would be plenty to germinate bermuda grass but don't have a clue about the coated seed.

It should fire off. Give it a week or 2 more. As long as the birds and ants didn't get it and you didn't bury it too deep it should pop up

Keep the cattle out and call it a garden and it will grow fast and thick. Lol
Boy that's right !! Plant a couple maters and some beans and the grass will be knee high in a week .

Cotton works better :D

I hear you. After the rain these past two weeks, the garden is looking pretty wooly. I checked the newly seeded pasture yesterday evening; the Wrangler is popping up. Now we just need the good Lord to keep the rain coming on a semi regular basis.

It is not how much rain you get at at one time but how long it stays wet/moist. The coating is usually designed to retain moisture to aid in germination.
