Me and Cabo are meeting up at the Circle M seedstock sale today. I look forward to meeting a fellow CT member. He is wanting to buy a Gelbvieh bull and I am going to try to get a couple of bred heifers. Wish us luck in our endeavors. I'm going to buy him a free cup of coffee and a free lunch ;-)

The sale was really good. Allot of high quality animals went through. The highest selling bull was a Post Rock Silver son that sold for $6,600 for 1/2 interest and 1/2 possession. He is a heck of a bull too. I was really impressed. Cabo bought two really nice, thick bulls. One purebred and one balancer. He also picked up a nice open heifer. His brother and niece bought a really nice bull and 2 open heifers. I bought 2 bred heifers. One Balancer and one Purebred. We had a great time. Cabo and crew were really nice folks and I am glad I got to meet them. I tried to get Cabo to bid on the Post Rock Silver son but he kept sitting on his hands. :mrgreen:

I'll post pics of the girls later when it gets daylight. I told Cabo he should post some pictures. He bought some exceptional bulls in my opinion.
 
Sounds like you all had a very good day! I'm glad you and Cabo & family got to meet and were able to make some purchases of stock you wanted.

Ok Iso........they are not really cooperating on pictures. They are still pretty nervous and I can't get that close before they move off. This is as good as it gets for now.

No but I saw the jerky sale going on. Me and Cabo sat on the front row of the bleachers right in front of the auctioneer. Did you buy anything wtrapp?
 
What's the weight on those heifers and how old are they? If they're close to 2 years I'd say they're a bit light, but that could also be just the pictures. They do look nice nevertheless

Nesikep,

They are both about 17 months old. I haven't weighed them but I would say about 900 lbs give or take a few. The should mature out about 1300 which is what I am looking for.

I wanted that bull so bad it wasn't even funny :( I didn't have a need for another bull nor could I justify the money for just half of a bull. That was one of the best bulls I have seen in a coons age. I have already spoken for some semen on him when he gets collected.

Thanks 3way. They were not the best bred heifers that sold at that sale but definitely in the top 20%. I got outbid on the top 3 on my list.

I think you would really like Cabos bulls. He really did well.
