One of my guys lays a roll of barbwire against my eagle safety can today. If your not familiar with this gas can, it's the best made . Metal with no unattached parts to lose. Except the funnel x spout. It's ingenious and as handy as a pocket on a shirt. Around here it's known as a fort hood can. Only kind you can take on the army reservation. Anyway on the ride the barbwire rubs a hole in the can. Ruining it. I go to the nearest station and pay 17.00 for a 2 gallon plastic pos. I think this thing has more parts than my truck. And it takes half a day to get the 2 gallons of gas out of it. Until I cut a vent hole in the crazy contraption. :mad:

I think jerry can is different i may be wrong. Eagle (brand) saftey can is about 50 bucks but worth it. It has a spring loaded flapper type lid . comes with a yellow dual purpose funnel/ spout . that fits around lid were you wont lose it . has a metal stirrup shaped handle you pull to open spring loaded lid.

Try cleaning the area JB weld a patch on it. Or run your lawn mower exhaust in the can to remove any oxygen. Remove and light a fire on a stick and see if any fumes are left. Then you should be able to braze the damaged area.

That's what I was thinking. It can be made safe to braze. Just go have to do it right.

I just tapped a small hole at top of handle and put a screw in it...easy in, easy out..no leaks. I like the valvestem idea too.

Going to killeen today im going to pick up two new ones. One for gas, one for diesel. The old is going in the broken tool pile that we attack on slow Rainey days(. That piles gotten pretty small lately :lol2: ) cody is a good hand , so he still works here. He'll be being more careful about how he stacks things on the flatbed though. :mad:
My real gripp here is the pos plastis can i had to buy in a pinch. With the crazy spring loaded spout and no vent. It was fine for holding gas i guess. But getting the gas out took three hands a pocket knife. And two days worth of cussing.

I had a chainsaw chain rub against those plastic pos and cut it and waste out 5 gallons of that liquid gold they sell at the pumps... Plastic cans are BS

I ran over one of mine. With the tractor. I did not cry but sure thought about it. I am down to 4 good cans and some of those junk ones with the stupid valves. Sure hope no one steals my good ones.
