Just wanted to remind everyone that the Gabrielle Gifford is on 20/20 tonight on ABC. She is being interviewed by Diane Sawyer ,it should be really interesting an inspiring ..

She looks amazing, and sounds great. Hard to watch without choking up or shedding tears.
 
I certainly think she is a heroic figure and a testament to modern medical science.

clearly though, she still has numerous challenges and is somewhat disabled.
 
Yes, she will never be able to resume her life in public service. It's a shame. That idiot that shot her and all those other people, well, I can't say what I think about him here.

I wish I shared your opinion.....
recall that they paraded her through congress for the big vote a while back.
the media is slobbering all over them selves in anticipation of her return.
the gun control folks have been silent but they would love to have a congress woman who has been shot in an assassination attempt to champion their cause.
In her interview she stated that she wanted to get back to work.....
only now that she is improving are they reporting on how devastating her injuries were....
have I mentioned that I don't trust the media any farther than I can throw a ton bull one handed with my bad shoulder?
even the so called conservative media gets so impressed with their self worth and influence that all reality goes out the window.

does anyone know who is sitting in Giffords seat in congress now? we just had an election. guess I can look it up.

I don't know if there was a proxy rep or not. I don't know if her seat was up for reelection. I recall seeing an article stating that her husband was not going to run for her seat. I guess someone suggested that. I can't see how a person with a traumatic brain injury can cope with the stresses of being a Congressional Representative. I have worked with people like this. Nothing is ever quite the same again, no matter how much you wish it. Half her brain was blown out, looked like.

I think that good sense will prevail and she will decide not to run. I don't think it would be fair to anyone if she were actually re-elected. I think she's sacrificed enough for her country. They want her husband to run instead but he says he won't. Kinda like Sonny Bono's wife after he died.

SHOWS THE POOR SENES OF JUDGEMENT ENJOYED BY THE AMERICAN ELECTORATE TODAY.....

Politics aside, Ms Gifford as a human being ,is a remarkable person. A lot/most would have given up, so would have most peoples spouses and family. Thanks to their courage we now are learning more about brain injuries and physical therapy that actually works to teach the brain to learn all over again.

I personally wish her nothing but the best ,thank you for giving us hope and I pray to God that none of us ever have to go through what her and her loved ones have had to endure.
 
Cann't stand Diane Sawyer , or Barbra Walters , so went bed early . It's terrable what happen to her . The guy that shot her , well they have a perfectly good desert there in AZ., use it. I don't approve of the fan fair they are making of a politican , We've got hundreds soldiers coming home every month with life changing injuries and never ending nitemares
