Here's what I have. A friend has some of those hospital water beds for burn patients.

The company he works for leases them to hospitals and decided to get new ones.

Anyway, these beds cost the company $15,000.00 and have 2 loadbars built in underneath them and contain a set of digital scales that go up to 1000 lbs.

They would, with some modifications, make a set of scales for weighing calves. Could be portable or fixed.

Need someone handy to take one, convert it, and let me in on the details of the conversion.

First one here gets one.

Bullbuyer and myself are in route. Considering the maximum speed of the watermelon express, we'll be there sometime mid-October.

Not brain surgery. Just take them out, put a floor on top of them, a pen around them, zero the scale and weigh them. Oh, put the calf in the pen.
Look up load bars on e-bay and google you may find examples.

how long are the loadbars. It should be a simple chore to make a calf weighing scale out of them.

The mechanical part will be simple.

It's the electronic part I'm worried about.

The operators panel is a part of the bed now. When the load bars are separated and the calf scales are built with the load bars, the wire going to the panel will have to be made longer.

Couple of other little knick knack things will have to be worked out too.

You'd have to see it to understand.................
