Ouch, that's an insult to my intelligence.. Best match for me is Trump... Consolation prize is Rand Paul, which is who I'd pick if given the choice

I got trump and carson. I wont be voting for either of them. The reason is on some of the questions i didnt like any of the answers so I had to pick the best out of all the ones I didnt like. It was like picking the best candidate out of a handful of crap. I don't know how you can say cruz don't stand a chance. Trump cruz and rubio are all still in this. I may be surprised but I think it's going to come down to trump and cruz.

Cruz, then Paul. Agree with Craig, you reach into a toilet, you're bound to grab a turd.

I'm not going into politics on here, but my choice will not get enough votes from the independents and moderates to ever become president. It's the big picture that matters. IMO

That may be true. The die hard republicans will vote rep no matter who gets the nomination. The die hard demo will do the same. Only way to win is court the moderates of both sides. I've said from the beginning there's only one person that can do that.

I missed where you said it before....would you be willing to restate who can do that in your opinion (of course being as careful as you need to be with respect to the rules of the board=cryptic as you feel necessary).?

Far more social questions than fiscal ones, so no surprise to me that Bernie is picked as my man, although Rand is 2nd and would be my overall #1 choice.

So you don't want to go with the fellow who most closely supports your own views? Please elaborate.
Well..
1) It's a quiz based on a couple questions
2) There's no relative importance put on each question
3) I don't vote based on what someone else tells me is right for me.. In particular a media outlet
4) There's no question based on the person's character.
5) There were several questions where there was no answer I could choose with good conscience.

True Grit and Craig Miller... You make a really good point.. There's the ones that'll always vote for their party.. I kinda consider them lost causes.. It's like preaching to the choir or to a brick wall depending on what you're saying.. My "first choice" is he|| bent on being divisive, and we've had plenty of that in the last dozen years, and by the looks of the polls these days, it's just getting worse. One party gets in, one side is happy, that party does everything their staunch supporters ask, (about 20% of the population?) alienating everyone else... so then it swings the other way, everything gets undone, and the 'political path' of the country looks a little like Einstein's "The drunk around the lamppost".. There's been no progress made in any direction but we've done a whole lot of walking. A person a little more centrist seems to be the only choice to make any progress that both sides can at least tolerate.

Sure. With out getting into politics. These are my personal opinions only. I had actually thought there were two that could pull the middle vote. Trump and carson. Each appeal to both sides for different reasons. Each are DC outsiders. Carson has not gained enough backing so far so I really think he doesn't stand a chance. Trump is gaining more everyday from some "conservatives" that are middle ground. I thinks he's the Obama of the gop. He talks a whole lot with out really saying anything. Same strategy Obama used. On the other side, I'm not sure if either Hillary or Bernie can pull a moderates vote. They are both far left wing, even socialist leaning.
