I keep hearing that fuel costs are down. OPEC has risen their production. Blah blah blah. Well fuel price has been pretty constant here for a while. Gas around $3.40 and diesel around $3.50 until a week or so ago. Gas is still the same but diesel went up $0.50. The cheapest diesel in Baker is now $3.99 and at the truck stops by the freeway is $4.12. And it is not just Oregon. On Friday I was over in Idaho filled up with diesel for $3.79. That has got to be a 50 cent jump over there too.

Gas has stayed pretty much the same here for weeks...$2.75 right in this area. It went up to around $3-3.19 a couple weeks ago 15-20 miles north. But our diesel has also taken a real jump... from 3.59-3.79 most places, to around $4.00 or so at the truck stops along the highway also. Son uses that Mudflap app to find the best deals close to home here when he is out and need some.

Is it bad I don't even look at the price of fuel? When the vehicle needs fuel I stop at one of the 3 stations in town that are always the same price and fill it up. Filled up 2 vehicles in the last 3 days and have no idea what the price was. Ha

I think that your situation might be a little different since you are not close to interstates, and truckstops and such where you have a little more choice... I sit a couple miles from the interstate, travel 20 miles north or south to fairly good sized towns, and within an hour of good sized cities. Plus, there is alot of development here so a little different. If I lived where there were only 2 or 3 stations and they all stayed around the same price, the only time I would worry about the prices is when I traveled outside the area. @Dave travels to the sale barn much more often, so has some choices there, even with not having a large population right near him.

I paid $320.00 to top off my Chevy 3500 HD and 12 gallon in my skidsteer Friday. Our governor is the problem here.

Agree, traveling way out of your way to save $20 isn't worth it... I do not go out of my way, but have to travel past most places regularly with testing cows so plan my fill ups when in those directions. Since it is 3 miles in either direction to the interstate ( I am between 2 exits) it is not out of the way... one direction is the main farm that sits along the interstate so 1/2 mile from farm road entrance to 4 stations competing for traffic fueling. So I naturally look at the prices most of the time. I travel 50-60 miles one way to one farm and another 75 miles in the other direction to test a different farm... makes sense to know what prices are and fill up when I am going past the best cost scenario.
We have a fuel tank on the one truck, and when we haul cattle in that direction, fill the truck and the extra tank at the one truck stop up there that runs $.20-.40 less than at home.
I also use a shell cc that gives me a minimum of $.10 off a gallon... lately it has been .15 off... at a shell station... then pay it once a month. One of my other ones give 3% off gas... so use it when not near a shell... It does add up when you do more traveling like I do when testing.

Gas is $2.69 & diesel is $3.09 here in SETX. Don’t have to move the product very far to get it here.

People I know from other areas always ask me what fuel is or talk about gas prices and I just give them a blank stare because most of the time I really don’t know.

Gas ranges from 2,69-2.79 and diesel 3.29-3.39 . Been pretty consistent all summer . Took a little jump week before the 4th as usual .

I don't take a drive just to save on fuel cost. But if I am in Ontario it is less then a mile across the bridge into Idaho. Fuel there is 30 to 50 cents a gallon cheaper. It is pretty easy to put 20 + gallons in either pickup. I have no problem driving a mile to save $10.00. The E free gas my mechanic says I should burn in the quad is $1.50 a gallon cheaper. Ten gallons I save $15. The grocery store there is a bunch cheaper. Calculated the savings over shopping Baker a couple weeks ago. We saved $56. So we make a trip of it

I was talking to my son who lives by Centralia. He said diesel there is $5.05. I am glad I got out of that state and away from that governor. I tell the kids to come down here to visit me. I can't afford to drive up there.

I don't pay much attention to fuel prices. I can't negotiate it and I'm not just joy riding so it is what it is. Most of the time I buy fuel where they have good ice, nice restrooms, a subway, etc. I'm usually trying to kill multiple birds with one stone.

I never look at the price of fuel. I'm more concerned at stopping at a place that all the freakin pumps work and run fast. It does irk me when I'm traveling and buy fuel off the interstate and then get 10 miles away and fuel is 50 cents cheaper at a small town store.

Another deal I don't do is the discount deal at the pump. They want you to get a receipt on your phone so they can bug the hell out of you to save a nickel a gallon. I also hate when stores make you answer 50 questions at the pump to get fuel.

I just never fill up at a pump unless I’m on a long trip so don’t pay much attention to pump prices. But whe I do notice them I’m glad I’m buying purple.

left Stonewall LA yesterday and drove to my office in Houston, during that 200 mile trip I saw a .79 difference per gallon on diesel

I go to the gas station with the best coffee. Its worth 10 more cents per gallon of fuel to me. The stores are getting pretty nice in town.
