Foundered

We have a 17 yr. old QH mare that appears to have foundered in ONE hoof only. Does anyone know if this is possible or has anyone ever heard of this happening before ? Any comments, suggestions, etc. appreciated.

yes, this is possible, But unlikely, I would put my money on an abcess in the foot. a horse will founder on both front or all four bepending on how sever.
