found some feed for 200.00/ton

My local feed store is going out of biz because the state eminent domained em. So I picked up half ton of this feed for finishing for half off:
Cp 12%
Cfat 2.5%
C fiber 18%
Wheat middlings, soybean hullsn soybean meal, rice mill byproduct, and then its all vitamins, then soybean oil, and cane molasses. In that order
TB and others, what do you think of this and should I augment it with corn?

As long as it's not old or molded you can't go wrong at that price. The only low quality ingredient is the rice mill by-product but everything else is fine. I'd add some corn to raise the TDN and energy levels and compliment the high fiber. Only thing...dang corn is gonna cost more than the feed. :cry2:
 
Thanks TB. Its not old or moldy. They were out of corn but I can go get a 55 drum of whole corn easy enough. Whattya think..3 parts feed one part corn?

You can start at that to begin with then gradually kick it up to 50/50 to put the final finish on them. Ought to make you some good beef.
 
i would buy as much of that feed as you could afford.an id prolly mix some corn or range meal with that feed.

dang i git 40 for a 350 barrel of citrus pellets. usf studies show it to be as good as corn..up to 50 of corn can be replaed with the pellets

we dont do alotta corn here...thats why we gotta charge so much for our beef..right hook..git it..right hook...hahaha..i kill me

What's so differnt bout that. Still natural. I'm just not raising any for sell right now.
