I dont know how many of you own a Ford truck, but I have now gotten my doubts about their gas engines. I have a 99 4x4 with a 5.4 ltr in it, and it just blew a plug! Now I am finding out that it is a problem with the heads that Ford installed on the 97-2002 V8's and V10's. Dealer told me that the head should be replaced at $3700; or have a kit installed (like a heli-coil) to fix the problem for ONLY $433. Now finding out it has been a problem for years, and Ford will not do anything about it. Some lawyer in Cali has a petition going of for a lawsuit, or for a recall to be done by Ford to fix the problem. It is actually a spark plug thread defect; by Ford only allowing 5 threads in the aluminum head for the plug to seat.
No wonder those Japanese models are more reliable than ever; and people scramble to buy them.
Better stick to a diesel. (like my 95 chevy one ton)
