Ford 6610 4wd

Help Support CattleToday:

Good tractor if taken care of. The 10 gallon overhaul laid on thick is usually enough for me to walk away. New paint hides lots of old problems. Make sure the dual power shifts firmly and crisp and holds load in all positions. Check the pedals to see how wore they are to guess hours.

Find the serial number and make sure it's a 6610 and not a 6610S.

I only see 2 remotes in the picture.

If that one doesn't work out, they have this one being auctioned at Wilson Livestock in Newport next weekend. Not sure what shape it's in, though. Randy Hodge could probably tell you about it.

Of the 2 of them I would be saving my money to bid on that 7610. JMO.

Edit to add: equipment at auction has gotten dang near dirt cheap here lately. A man with some funds can get a good deal most of the time. Those series tractors were tough and dependable.

Of the 3 I see I would be on that DEUTZ FAHR 5120G 4X4 CAB TRACTOR (GERMAN MADE). There is dealer support at Abington. The thing will go almost 40 mph and if you decide to convert to Amish, you still can drive it all over the place and not need insurance, tags, inspections, etc.
I would love to have one of those as a neighbor had an old one years ago and it was bullet proof. If you decide to move just load up the gooseneck behind it and head west.

Yes, were planning on going there Saturday for the cow sale so going early to see the machinery sell also.

Were seeing good used equipment getting even higher here, especially construction type equipment. A month ago we sold a backhoe that we expected to bring around 15,000 and it brought 29,000. Older Mack trucks brought stipid prices. We haven't sold any farm equipment since April so not sure about it.
If anyone wondered, i work occasionally for an auction company.

If I had a need for it, I would spend some serious change on that 7610. 7610 gets you a turbo and an extra fuel tank under the driver's floorboard over a 6610, fair amount more power. I've got a 7610 and 7710, both series 2 tractors. Best tractors I've ever owned.

That 7610 looks honest, the 6610 - not so much.

It wasnt nearly as good looking once i got there. Didn't even make an offer. The guy said he had 12 people coming to look at it today. Said had already been offered 23,000. Not sure about it.

If you list anything in the ballpark price figure on marketplace you will be swamped with interest. I listed an old 4-wheeler recently and had 40 messages within 2 hours.

Around 3 years ago, we advertised a Case tractor on CL, and I parked it down by the road too. Got quite a bit of interest both ways. Sold it within a couple days to somebody maybe 2 hours away that saw in on CL.
Couldn't believe how much interest there was. The locals are a hard crowd to deal with around here. Some people that stopped actually got mad when they heard the price, but the people that came from a little ways off were more in line with their offers.

I dare you to call back and ask if one of those 12 bought it....

Lots of guys buy shiny new paint...

Can't begin to count how much newly purchased equipment customers bring me with thick new paint that are riddled with problems. But they always say "it looked so good though"...
