He sold to a bidder from China for 1.25 million euros this week, that's 1.42 million usa.
Previous record price was $376,000 euros and the owners were hoping for 500k.
Good racing pigeons average about $2,500 euros according to the auction house that sold him.

Pigeon Racing in Belgium is a major sport. They race all the way from Barcelona Spain...this bird might have been a Barcelona winner.
