Checked on the cattle yesterday and they were already swarming with flies.

Back in February, I knew this was going to be a bad insect year when my son came back from the woods with a tick, in February!

Had the same feeling because we didn't really have a winter this year. I put out fly mineral mid February and soaked the backrubber Monday.

The product is actually ultra saber the label says it can control lice
All season long and flies if I remember right six months.
It says it can control I get three to four months out of it.
My biggest problem is my east fence that has 150 head standing on the other side
I am not sure they have ever been treated for anything.
There is a warning not to use more than four times in six months I can't imagine what kind of herd health you have if you thought you needed too. It is not for dairy either.

Hard to control anything when neighbors won't get with the program too.

We applied it twice last year. Was just wondering how you faired with it. I was pretty impressed. I feel like after a few rains they need treated again. Not sure if just an abundance of flies post rain, or it gets diluted after rain wash...or both. Most of the sabre should be absorbed though I would think.

It rains here every other day in the summer after a day or so I don't think it washes off
as it is supposed to absorbed.
My cows are on a mineral program with IGR as well.
Seen them stand at the fence with the neighbors and his are covered and keep them off.
Then poof one day I see the effectiveness diminish I have no clue to the trigger.
We have a long fly season here it helps to have a little Brimmer under the hide as well.

Exactly CB. I know you all get rain more frequently than we do, so I was wondering how it worked down there. Noticed the same thing about the sudden diminished efficacy. Works darn good while it's on though. Brimmer you say? Folks say they won't hold up here in the cold winters ;-) . I would love to have a touch of ear in all my girls (maybe 1/8 max)
