I saw them used this summer at the place I was working, and I really liked the way they kept the fly situation under control. 'Twas pretty neat... I'm planning on using them at home next summer.
 
Enlighten me milkmaid, I don't know what that is? I am always looking for something new to control flies.

We used them as well this year. They did seem to help keep the flies at bay. MM, did you notice any difference in horse flies population? Either there was a bumper crop of horse flies or the preditors did not have any impact on them. Several different companies offer the preditors.

I didn't notice horseflies... I did notice the predators made a big impact on the hornfly population (that's what you call the black flies on cattle, right?).

Well, I've read this three times now and still feel like I've come in on the middle of some conversation.

And as far as FWIW goes, the title could have said
"Re: fly predators. . . just Saddam Hussein" and it would have had just as much meaning to me.

Maybe one day I'll be cool, but for now I'll just smile and nod.

Well FWIW (for what it's worth) predator flies have been used for years down here on many dairy operations. And they do work but nothing works 100%.
