Long 460 that belonged to my Papaw. Hasn't been used much the last 10 years. I decided I'm going to put it to use this year with bush hogging and hay raking. So figure I better get everything serviced. 
I don't think the hydraulic filter has been changed in 20+ years. Maybe the original, but surely not.
Anyways, got water in the hydro. I'm going to flush it in attempt to get all the contamination out.
How would you flush it? I originally thought to fill it up with diesel, drive on flat ground slowly for about 5 minutes, then drain and refill w cheap hydraulic fluid. Run for a few hours, drain, and refill with 46 fluid like it calls for then go. I'll run a new filter during the flush process, and put a new filter in when the 46 fluid is poured in.
Am I asking for trouble? Have had a couple people suggested 50/50 diesel/hydro for the flush process. That makes sense to me.
Leave the lift arms down the whole time, right? That'd keep the diesel out of the lines I think.
