Flatbed v/s Regular Bed

I had a tree fall on my truck the other night, and smash the bed. I'm considering putting a flatbed back on it, instead of another dually bed. My question is for those people who have, or have ever had trucks with flatbeds. What are the pros and cons. A buddy of mine had one and hated it, but I think I would like it. I would appreciate any opinions. Thanks.

It really depends on what you use your truck for most..........you can allways put sides on a flat bed.........;)
 
We really like our flatbeds. They are a lot more forgiving if you bump a post or a cow. We have a Hydra-Bed and you can think of a lot of uses besides hauling and unrolling bales. Bale arms work pretty well to tie a cow to and doctor a foul foot. If I can get her roped! Like the tool boxes under the front corners too. Bale arms make pretty good side boards. We had one flat bed with low sides and a fold up tail gate that was hinged. It worked well. We wouldn't be without a grill guard either. Even put them on Expeditions. Harvested 3 deer with a 97 Expedition without a scratch.
 
I have drove flatbeds for yrs and I seriuosly doubt that I will ever be without one
I have one dew eze and just sold my dodge with a reg flatbed on it
I would probably tear the sides off of a reg bed if I had ones especially a dually bed I quarantee it wouldn't have any fenders left :lol: :lol:

I sure am glad you found that truck for me
I will be in Searcy tuesday and Curtis is coming over also so you can drive it over and we can load it on the semi and then Curtis can give you a ride back home :lol:

be sure and wash it before you come I wouldn't want any of that Delta dirt to fall off on these Missouri rocks

Much easier to load a flatbed with a forklift. less sheet metal to trash. Easy to remove if one sells the truck but keeps the bed.
