First Steer - Need Advice!

This guy at this stage is wild. I'm sure he could be a lot wilder, since at some point he was on a bottle for a while, but he is definitely afraid. Making progress with that. He sniffed me yesterday of his own accord.

I am planning on buying the book by Heather Smith Thomas (her horse books are great too). Actually I had planned to get it a week ago but life got in the way. Haven't been to town. Hoping to go today.

I have had health problems with my horses that I couldn't diagnose with certainty, so I am used to that. It is frustrating.
