Last year round balers were plentiful and cheap at this auction I want an additional one for this year they were expensive go figure. I was disappointed but decided to stand in the snow and bought this barn kept jewel it is in good shape in time cuts and knots well. Paid 750+ 10% buyers penalty.

Not a bad deal! I'm going to an auction next week in hopes of maybe getting a grain drill with small seed box. However, with prices being so crazy I'm not sure what to expect. Good luck with your new purchase.👍

Take it south to the other auction next Saturday and at least double your money. You done good. The snow helped I'm sure.
I worked a machinery auction Thursday and almost everything was high.

I'm hoping there isn't a big turn out and can get a good deal. Always seems like when there are large crowds the price moves high and quick.

good deal!

Those 273s are good balers. Heck it came with $40 worth of twine and everything looks straight. With the price of hay it will pay for itself in a few hours with some sweaty, nasty, dusty, backbreaking work.

Seems weather on a lot of auctions is a non factor anymore since a lot of bidding is done direct on the net setting in your on cozy computer seat. I remember bidding on some equipment at a sale at Winchester Kentucky from home with solid ice on the ground there. I believe with the net it made things go higher as everybody was thinking what I was thinking it would create good deals.

I will find out where it is but Red is doing an auction next Saturday just south of you. I think it's the same one down there you usually go to.

The auction this coming weekend is Dry Creek Auction. It's somewhere about 10 miles towards you from the other one you always went to in South Boston.

I worked an auction last Thursday with Darryl Tyler and he thought it would be a good sale if the weather cooperated. But he said not as big a sale as last fall. But starting at 8am with 4 auctioneers working 4 different areas and working until 6pm is a big sale to me.

How long do you think it's going to take $5 diesel to soften the prices on farm and industrial equipment?

I'm betting 1 to 2 credit card cycles.

The prices were great last Thursday, actually above what was expected. But at 2 sales in Eastern VA the reports were very cheap. Sky was at one of them. I told the auctioneer to buy anything that looked like it would work this Saturday and I would go pick it up in a couple weeks. That sale is south of you closer to Danville VA. I had ankle surgery 2 days ago or I would be there buying.
