First 1000 and all is good

I have ran the first 1000 bales thru my new baler this yr and so far so good we will see how it holds up in a couple more yrs when I hit the 10,000 bale mark

Sure is nice to be able to finally bale some hay it seems this yr has been the worst in at least the last 5 for getting hay up with out it getting wet
I have laid down a little over a 100 acres the last 2 days and have baled about 30 this afternoon

WOW. I would say our baler is at around the 400 mark. I will check when I bale. Probably tomorrow....or the next day. What does the sun look like again?

First 100 tore up the baler. Next 15 acres tore up the fluffer. Next 10 having problems with the disc mower. Waiting for the dealer to open this morning to get a few parts to fix the fluffer and mower. Only 600 rolls to go. :cry2:

Isn't owning hay equipment a wonderful joyous thing :lol: :lol:
heck I busted a gear box on my discbine, don't know when or how but luckily it was still under warranty
It was the box that runs the rolls , got the tedder back together finally
I bale hay for a preacher and I asked him why he didn't bale his own as I noticed he has a baler and he said that he couldn't be a good christian and bale hay I think he might have a point

How in the world are you getting hay put up!? Got a new swather sitting in the barn ready to go but I can't get the weather to cooperate. Alfalfa is too far along already and the weatherman is calling for rain everyday for the next week with no change in the pattern in sight. The rain is doing wonders for the pasture, wheat, barley, corn, oats, etc etc. but I need a couple weeks of dry weather to get some hay put up!!! It wouldn't be so bad but I need dairy quality alfalfa. Those girls aren't very forgiving if they aren't given the best of the best.

Been delaying cutting anymore till today. Weatherliar kept giving high chances of rain but we all we got was wonderful weather. He finally got it right Thursday and we got a half. I could have had it moved by then. Made the decision this morning to go on and cut some down near a thirsty field of tassleling corn. I figure I'll either make corn or hay.

We have had a bad time of it this yr weatherliars been calling for no rain= rain
they call for rain we get clear altho not very much clear
I put up 300 bales about 5 weeks ago then 3 weeks ago put up 300 more (we had 4 days of sunshine) and then I started mowing tuesday and started baling yesterday I have about 65 acres down right now going to wait til monday to mow my alfalfa, still got close to 200 acres left on first cutting grass and some of what I cut 5 weeks ago is almost ready again

what I am baling right now is some of the best red clover grass hay I think I have ever cut is about70% clover and 30% Johnson grass about 2 ft tall will make some dandy hay

The sun finally came out today after disappearing for 2 days.

I have just finished baling 62 - 4 x 4 round bales. The tractor and the baler and in the shed. I will clean it tomorrow and put it away. We will start picking the bales up tomorrow. Hubby and Papa worked on the new shed today.

I forgot to look at the final count for the total bales. Around the 600 mark maybe a bit less. The baler worked 100% perfectly today, but at around 160 bales it lost a brake pad which meant that the net didn't stop revolving when it should after each bale. ARGH! :mad:

I would never imply such a thing ( us custom guys have to put up with whining customers :lol: )
I have been custom baling hay for yrs
when I was still at home we custom baled from the time I can remember til the early 90s(I had left home by then)
My dad was one of the first to go to a Big round baler. I should say us boys as All dad did was buy it we used it :lol:
If I remember correctly the first yr we had a round baler we baled a whopping 200 - 300 bales with it the next yr we did over 500 was a little hard getting people used to the idea of going from small squares to large round bales

Honest Kenney, I didn't touch it............. :lol: My stuff is falling apart setting in the barn waiting for enough rain to grow something to use it on.

Lucky you!! We are NW MO and still too wet with more on the way. Much better letting the cows predict weather - more accurate. Girls haven't missed it yet!

going to put up another 250 to 300 today already baled what I had raked just came in for dinner and to let the tops dry on what we raked this morning
if this weather holds all week should have close to another 1000 on it by the end of the week
