What is ever ones thoughts on the crisis that the US and the world is facing? What do you think that the crisis will have on the cattle markets? My guess we will see lower priced cattle short term and maybe long term. As long as people re-trench in their spending we will see a trend to save where ever they can, even in their eating habits.

we are just gonna have to hang tough.an ride this out itll turn sooner or later.wall street has been riding the boom for along time.an it was time for things to go bust an slow things down.i think the cattle market will survive.but the light stocker calves will take a major hitt.because the feedlots are wanting 800lb or bigger calves because that means less days on feed.

Right now everyone is in a panic. Sort of the way it was with Y2K.

The media is in the news business and bad news is what sells. They are in a competitive frenzy. Obviously they will not be airing interviews with folks who are doing just fine.

Once the smoke clears, we can see the situation much better.

We need to fix the gaping hole in the water trough before we go pumping more water into it. Once the holes are repaired, it will hold water just fine.

"Que Sera, Sera!"

I think it was Ernest Hemmingway (?) that said "It is the Best of Times and The Worst of Times"

Remember:

Even in the Best Economy, some are going Bankrupt,
Even in the Worst Economy, some are making Fortunes...

It's about Management, Common Sense, Not Chasing Losers, and Not doing "WAG" speculating...keep a good cash flow, and evaluate the present and future based on the past...

I always thought the S meant "scientific". What do I know?

I'm sure we'd all agree on the WAG

Y2K I could see (thought I did) It was a hoax. This I have no idea what to do. In this case I plan on doing nothing until the smoke clears, if it don't clear vanish in it. A poor plan, but have one.

I think that was Dickens, but the sentiment is there. Is that from Bleak House?
