My dad spent the first 2 yrs. of his retirement in the mind-set that every day he had at home was a Saturday, and he only had so much time to get things done before Monday showed up. :) He got alot of stuff done!

Congrats. If I make it to Sept. it will be four years and they have gone faster than any I've lived. Dun's right. Now the work starts. Good thing is, you can start or stop when you want. I seldom wear a watch.

Congrats to you.My Idea of retireing was not to become a couch potato,but to not have to put up with the hustle and bustle and punching in and out on the time clock.
Been retired for seven years now and I have gotten very good at it.I have worked probably harder but no pressure.Love it.

I’ve been looking forward to this day for some time but also enjoying my job at the same time. With all of the interest and hobbies that I have, I’m sure that I won’t have to worry about becoming a couch potato.

My wife retired a couple of years ago so it looks like we won’t have too much trouble getting our calendars free to see our kids and grandkids, do a little camping, flying, shooting, fishing, some travelling and messing with our cattle in our free time.

We have a lot of things we want to do before the “golden years” prevent us from doing the things we enjoy doing. Who knows, I might even quit wearing my watch!

Dad, retired from the Air Force at 37, continued to work until he was 62. Right now he couldn't tell you what day it was much less what time it is. I have to say things like "the day after tommorow" if I plan something with him.
