Figuring out protein?

I am wondering how I can figure out what the protein of my hay is? Is there a way I can do it myself or do I have to send it to a lab?



I have searched previous threads to see if this have been discussed, but couldn't find it.

You take a core of a few representative bales, perhaps 1st cut, 2nd cut etc and send them to be tested. There is another way of doing it, but unless you're amazing with chemistry, you'll blow it. Not a do-it-yourself job.
