Fiberglass tank repair

I would clean the spot that needs the patch and sand it with a coarse sand paper and follow the instructions with the kit. Place the patch on the inside of the tank so that the pressure will be bearing against it.
Its really pretty simple.

I recently repaired a metal tank so method is similar. Some tips-
Make sure area is dry
Sand/grind area till surface is rough
After you have applied matting and resin and allowed it to dry apply a second coat of resin
Don't bring thinners anywhere near resin
If size of area to be repaired is large bridge gap with a strip of steel/tin

Good luck and wear gloves!

Thanks for the suggestions. The tank is drying as we speak, we did the outside first then we will flip it and do the inside. A heated garage made it a simple process since it is 2 F outside right now. We drilled hole in the end of the cracks and filled them then put on several layers easch getting bigger as we went. Kinda like preparing metal for welding, cleaned up the cracks and and widened them so it was level.

I did a repair on an open top that lasted about a year. Then a drip started. I decided to put a cheap plastic tarp inside of it until I had time to redo it. Its been like that for nearly three years now. Maybe I'll just leave it be.

I have one I though had a hole. Turned out to be a "chicken footed" type crack. Makes a dandy cover for a water well wellhead.
