As it applies to fertilizer what does N=12.55, P=25.1 and K=23.18 mean? Is that the % of the actual thing N/P/K per pound?
I was just looking over my fertilizer bill and got curious.

Thanks

Divide each number by 100 and it will give you the pound of fert needed to add 1 # to soil

So what exactly does it mean?

A 50 pound bag of 10-10-10 would contain 5 pounds each of nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. In other words, if you put a 50 pound bag of fertilizer on a garden you really didn't actually put much fertilizer. Hope that analogy helps.

It's the percentages of each in the mix. Never seen them get so tight as to add decimal points on the bill where I buy fertilizer but I bet I pay for what I get.
