hi all, just a question about fences, we are gona put up a new fence for a new pasture and we are wanting to use hitension wire. my question is we are gonna use the power poles that are 100' apart and on gen flat ground and was wondering should we put a post half way or will spreaders every 20' be enough? tnx

If you're referring to hitensile electric, depending on how strong your end posts are you may not need anything in between them. 20 foot is kind of overkill, maybe 50 if you don;t pull the wire real tight.

50' on the level is the norm here for line posts and nothing else in between, going up hills and down in valleys it takes more posts than a half mile of fence.

The power company may have something to say about using the utility poles. I'd check before I started stringing wire.
