I have been using high-tensile barbwire for fencing in my cows and horses for several years. I grew up in Georgia and am probably moving to Colorado and want to get my fences up by the end of the summer. I have always lived in Georgia and have always used high-tensile wire. My question is about what type to use here. Do you think the high-tensile wire will work just as well, or should I go with the thicker 12.5 gauge wire that has to be manually stretched? I have been looking around here, and all I have ever seen was the thicker kind of wire. I know that there is a good bit of snow there in the wintertime. Also, should I use wood fence posts or would metal t-posts be good enough? I have a tractor-powered auger and a post driver. I also have dug my share of holes by hand over the years. I am not afraid of the work, I just don't want to put up a fence that I will have to replace after my first winter.
