Feeding Replacement Heifers

Is there any real trick to feeding a replacement show heifer? Are there any recommended rations for a growing 600lb Angus heifer that will be showed in the upcoming year?

We show Simmental cattle. No there is no special "trick". Just good nutrition & health program. Nutrition should be about a 14% protein grain ration with all the hay she wants (good quality grass hay) plus a real good mineral program. Stay on top of preventative health program including worming, delice & degrub in timely manner. If she is fed right & is healthy, her genetic potential will be able to be utilized. Jeanne
