Feeding programme to round off oxen:

Want to round off six 15 month old oxen for auction.They are mainly on natural grazing,kikuyu,oats straw and mineral licks.They are angus/hereford and Jersey crosses.Any feeding suggestions?It's my first try.

it will increase to about 3% of their body weight, gain roughly 1.6-2.2 kg/day depending on genetics, they should be ready in 120 days again depending on where they were at the start.

If you're not geared to mix your own food buy Tanqua Mooibees pille from Tanqua Voere in Riviersondered, or Meadow Complete Feedlot Finisher from Meadow in Paarl.

Are the voermol feed concentrates still available? They were popular for on farm feeding and finishing when we still lived in Zim.

Yes, they are, but they use an inferior protein source compared to Molatek and they are basically the same price.
