My friesian x AIS (milking shorthorn) cow needs to be fed up well as she has two and soon to be three calves on her. There's some roughage in her paddock but nothing high-value as far as protein goes. I have plenty of split mungbeans, cottonseed meal and whole white cottonseed. She ignored the beans and meal for a start but is scoffing it all off now. (She basically only wanted to eat Grow n Show pellets and lucerne hay but that's not economical!) How much mungbeans and CS meal do you think I should build her up to per day, in two feeds? She has whole CS ad lib but isnt really touching it. She is a medium sized cow. Any advice appreciated.
