Feed is custom mixed. They mix it on site and then pump it from mixer to super sacks or trailer. They mix 2 tons at a time . Material are corn, rice bran, cotton seed hulls, distillers grain, and two other ingrediants. Cool thing is you get to watch the actual ingredients being mixed in front of you. Only problem is the wait, but he said he would mix mine so all I have to do is pick them up . I know people feed free choice, but I wonder how much goes straight out the backside. He said he could add a couple hundred pounds of salt to slow them down. Feeding them twice daily. We are already friends. Everyone is calm so it will make loading them easier. There is about 20000 lbs of heifers and steers in this one group. Have another group around 10000 lbs. Would lobe to get them to a pot load. I am going to keep some heifers. I tested the market heifers sold for .30 less then steers. I thought it would have been closer.
