It is interesting, but they say nothing about what it is made of (plastic or metal), and what you get - do you get the skirt? . I paid $625 for a J and L Haysaver mad of very high quality thick steel, I think that is a better deal than their add on for $412 plus shipping? Of course the price of steel has gone through the roof since I purchased mine last year, so it could now be out of siite?

The question I have about the cone type feeders is how do you clean out that cruddy stuff that the cows won't eat?

I recently welded a cone shaped configuration into an above the ground feeder. The hay does last longer! As it falls thru the cracks it gives more opportunity for the cows to pick thru the garbage. I am using it in the yearling pen and am in the prosses of building one to support two bales. Hope to try it on the mommas.

When the critters have emptied the cone, they go for the stuff in the bottom. We have been very impressed with the reduction of waste.
