depends
ok i have a ration that has

1200 lbs. cracked corn
400 lbs. cotton seed hulls
200 lbs. steam rolled oats
100 lbs. soy bean meal
100 lbs. molasses
with this ration mixed up and bag it would cost 269$ a ton and i was wondering if i could take out the oats and cotton seed hulls and substitue it with oat hay

for my show calves i have cracked corn, some protien pellets and maybe just a smidged of soybeal meal. we feed oat hay. then with just our commercial herd we give them cracked corn, protien and oats. then feed them grass hay. they are all doin ok. thay are rather large. (fat)
