after reading quite a few posts on juding this bull or that bull, I am amazed that some people think herd sires get to mature size on grass only or very little grain. What do those of you who buy herd bulls from seedstock producers or those who grow there own bulls out think they need to be feed per day. The young bulls on here that seem to get slammed all have a couple things in common. poor genetics and more often than not, lack of feed and BCS. Feed, marbling, ribeye and BCS are a result of one thing FEED. Someone posted that a yearling bull only needs to eat 15-20 per day of all feed material. They should eat more than that in hay or grass alone. Just curious as to what most thought the herd sires were fed.
