Feed ration

Need help making a good feed ration for Holstein steers that I am raising to 400 lbs. corn,dist grain, soybean meal.

What is your roughage source?

Grass hay. Mostly fescue.

Is that distillers grain wet, mod or dry?

It is dry

holstein steers 175 lbs - 450 lbs
175-250 lbs 16% protein
250-350 lbs 14.5% pro
350-450 lbs 13.5% pro
450 lbs+ - grower ration 12.5%
holstein finishing ration 11.5%

15% Corn, 35% DDG, 50% Fescue hay would put you in the ballpark of 16% CP & should allow for about 2 lbs gain/head/d. You'll need to add extra Calcium somehow.
