Feed company called me

I haven't had cattle no for over a yr. and I just got a call from one of the local feed stores wanting to drum up business. I'm sort of out of the loop right now but are feed companies hurting overall or is it a regional thing? I should have told her if the dang prices weren't so high you might do more business.

The only thing worse than feed companies calling are those pesky mortgage guys. :D

Probably hurting. In Texas the cow numbers are down tremendously so Im sure the feed store is suffering too. Cant' make much money selling one or two bags of chicken feed at a time. Cubes down here are still around $10 a bag (20% cubes). Haven't paid any attention to the price of a bag of corn lately but I'm sure it's between $9 and $10.

I think they are hurting to a degree. Farmers are trying new sources of feed nutrients, and its working pretty good. I always kinda gauge the economy on how my horse friends feed their equines. Few years ago, there were some spoiled ponys out there. They had all these fancy feeds/treats. As of recently, seems they are feeding the bare minimums, hay water. I was surprised a while back they said on the radio how many horses there were in wi alone, cant remember exactly, but the equine industry is huge, to me, there still hay burners, lol (Sorry horse owners, dont flame me too hard :hide: )

Big feed company in Pa I use that had four plants sold out to cargill a few months ago.

It was Performance, no half off BSE and some of those pesky mortgage agents are pretty dang good people :nod:

yes without a q most if not all feed mills an dealers are hurting.because every1 is still selling out.i doubt if itll be much longer before youb see some closing.

We lost the main dairy supplier here. Too few customers.

i only know of 1 dairy equipment dealer here.but they mayve quit by now.
