feed bred cow/heifer?

A guy told us the other day that we should not feed our bred cow and heifer feed. Now if i remember right, i think somebody the other day said they didn't feed bred cows anything, resulting in wimpy calves and little milk production. whhat do ya'll do?

I think it depends on the individual animal, and your particular circumstances. More information would be very helpful.

If they need feed, feed them.

If they don't, don't.

It's really that simple.

i guess i just kindof wonder what ya'll do. :D They are in great condition, so we don't plan on feeding them
