It's wood cutting time.Just wondering.
Mine are:
Stihl MS362/20"bar
Stihl 026 and
Stihl 028 with 20" bars
and my Grandfather's old McCullock 1=53 (made around 1962,20lbs 80cc) when we used it
 
Stihl 046 with 25 and 36 inch bars and yellow chains
Stihl farm boss (290) 20 inch bar and yellow chain
Husqvarna arborist saw and green chains
Stihl pole saw

These saws are the most readily available around me and service is important.
My favorite pieces of equipment are my helmet, gloves and chaps
 
I don't know about red, but the yellow means it doesn't have the anti-kickback features. Yellow is a more aggressive cut chain with a little more liklihood of kicking back. Green is for inexperienced users and cuts slow as heck.

I like the huskys

I have a 385xp 24" 36" and 42" bars
Also 353 18" bar
Both are modded by Wicked Work Saws and muffler modded as well.

That MS460 does get heavy after a while, but it is a cutting beast with the dual port muffler, full skip chain and fully adjustable carb I put on it.. Probably my favorite is the MS260.

Bought one in 2007--still my only saw, and has never been in the shop. Not something anyone could make a living with in the saw woods, but handles anything growing on my place. I've severely abused it cutting creosoted utility poles and a few crossties.

Had a Stihl 044 Super with a 36 inch bar back in my youth. Now I wouldn;t even be able to lift the thing. Now days if I can;t do it with a 24 inch bar it just stays there.
 
I like both stihls and husky saws, but if I have to work on it the stihls are a total PITA, a husky comes apart in minutes

What saws do I have?
Stihl 064 28" bar.. good saw, feels like a husky, good power without a huge chassis
Husky 394, dang does that thing cut with determination
about 4 or 5 Husky L65's
Husky 35, built by Frontier.. just a wee 1-hander thing but handy for pruning
Ford (O&R) small tophandle as well
2 Husky 2100's that need a little more work before they're running right

All saws except for the small ones have been ported and tuned up good

Last but not least, a husky 61 I've done a whole lot of work to... bored, stroked, ported and then a tuned pipe.. Love the cackle of that thing

Good videos. The way they are blowing sawdust they must be leaned out pretty good.
 
I've been wanting a new Stihl for over 10 years. The old one just won't die!!!!! When it finally bites the dust, I'll rationalize getting a new one.

If you back over it with the tractor it might not die but the emergency care would pay for a new one.

dun you always have a solution. I just gotta pay attention. Maybe I should worry about the tractor!! LOL
 
There is Stihl and then there is husky at a distant second. The rest might be better than a cross cut but just barely.

I have used/worn out:
Stihl 090 36 to 60 inch bar
Stihl 075 36 to 60 inch bar (6 or 7 of these)
Stihl 051 36 inch bar
Stihl 066, 056, 064 Mostly 32 and 36 inch bar with an occasional 42 inch bar (a boat load of these)
Stihl 045, 044 32 and 36 inch bar
Stihl 041 28 inch bar
I presently have a Stihl 066 and a 290. The 290 would be a great little saw for someone who doesn't do that much. To me it is kind of a toy.
I wore out 3 Huskies, 2 1500 (?) running 36 inch bar and a 490 (?)
I have used a Mac 125 (be a good boat anchor), an old Homelite (often referred to as house heavy), and assorted others that were on landings none of which impressed me at all.
