Two neighbor guys had a pen of steers custom fed at a feedlot. They closed out this week. Steers weighed 1,465 and sold for $2.23. That is $3,266 a head. That is sure to have put a smile on their faces. I have watched these guys buying. They don't exactly buy #1's.

Local SB had a $2.39 fat top Tuesday. Avg $2.30.

We sold some hfrs two weeks ago. They didn't get bred. They probably could have used a little more finish. Weighed 1,250 brought $2.15. I'm not complaining. They had some some 1,500lb hfrs bring $2.335 that week.

The packers want them Big and Fat.
