I read on the news this morning that Randy Travis was arrested AGAIN for drunk driving-so much talent, now going down the drain-why do these people who seem to have it all, do stupid stuff like this?

His wrecked Trans Am.

maybe after all those years of stardom, he's decided to settle down... and take up a hobby of running naked, and wearing a cape.... i admitt ive done some stupid stuff under the influence,, but that one, never crossed my mind...

That would be one heck of a match. LiLo and Travis. I still turn up the radio when one of his old hits comes on, hard to beat a little Randy on the radio and a cold beer while cruising the backroads.

and its not his first time getting arrested for driving drunk-6months ago he had another episode-hope he gets some help because I don't care who he is, no one should drive drunk! If he wants to kill himself fine, but no one else should die because some twinkie decides to get behind the wheel

well if your gonna sing about it,, i guess you need to live a little of it..... i remember watching this happened to George on the news http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpCuQIyFARo

That was in Mississippi wasn't it AC? I was in college at the time and was a huge George Jones fan. I met him here in Brentwood at a Red Lobster one day. He was sitting all alone and since his food hadn't yet arrived I walked over and introduced myself. He was extremely nice and seemed happy to meet a fan. I asked him why he was alone and he explained that "Nancy, was shopping over at the mall and he didn't really like to go shopping, so he decided to have lunch instead".

I was surprised at how small a fella he is up close.

Is driving naked a felony or a misdemeanor in TX? Or does it depend on how many extra pounds you carry? Someone on this board is bound to know.
He threatened to kill the cops. I assume he intended to use his concealed handgun.

The only time I've ever driven naked, and i was really only semi-naked, I had a really convincing co-conspirator :pretty: .... I can't really imagine being drunk enough to try it by myself and I'm not the perfect picture of sobriety. No matter my state of dress or undress, I have a voice in my head that tells me when it's time to stay home.
I have to wonder about someone his age that still blames stuff like this on a fight with his girl. I drink beer and yet I can disagree with my wife and not stomp off naked and mad and wrap my truck around a telephone pole.

It;s called "personal character". Not to be confused with "being a character"

I actually find it really interesting that people assume money, or celebrity status makes you more immune to human issues. When it is really the opposite. Often those that chase stardom and money are already a bit needy. I just don't understand how you can be arrested multiple times for drunk driving, and still have your freedom.

I'm not sure if he was charged with DWI the first time as he was parked in a church parking lot when found. This morning's news reported that before the accident he had been in a convenience store naked trying to buy cigarettes but had no money. Hard to store a wallet in your birthday suit, huh?

It happens all the time------unfortunately.

And taking a persons driver's license away----that's joke. I know of a few people who continued to drive anyway-----drunk-----get caught----and still have their freedom.

I'm thinking these people have really good defense attorneys.

One fellow I know of, had been out of prison for 9 months (having pulled 14 years of a 16 year sent.----second time in the klink) violated his parole (by being drunk) had no license and his passenger was killed as a result of his drunk driving. He just got out of prison after serving 2.5 years of a 3 year sentence for the drunk driving incident that resulted in a person's death. He still has no license and he continues to drink-----and drive.
