Since we are in a drought I have worked up a meadow that is always wet in the spring and plan to fall seed it to a clover, birdsfoot, meadow fescue, brome mixture. I have a 12' JD press drill and I can rent a 10' Brillion seeder for $6.50 per acre. I always pack after I seed.
How much can you reduce your pounds of seed per acre with a Brillion vs. a drill grass seeder box - - and still get a good stand?
Will brome give me metering trouble if it is only 2 to 3 pounds per acre, or less than 20% the seed mix?
