Really pretty Jeanne. I think I am partial to the red heifer.. that black is pretty too. How are they bred?

Red is a Milestone out of my old donor cow Ms Power Lass, born 9/1/18
Black is an Executive Order out of a donor cow, CLCC Victoria (Trademark x Sazerac) from HPF owned by Laurie Meyers, born 9/4/18. I have a full sib to this heifer, but she is red blazed face. Luck out. Purchased 3 embryos, got two pregnancies - both were heifers.

Always trying to make the "perfect" animal!!!
Really nice of you to remark about my animals having a "clean feminine look". That is one of my main objectives in my breeding program. I want them big barreled, big butted, good legged, and tapered into that pretty front end. I have reds, blacks, both with touches of white, 4.5 frame and maybe still some 7 frame, but they all are pretty much clean fronted.
I always joke, "I don't care if they are red, black, or purple polka dotted, just so they are GOOD"

They are very nice, and super clean!

I’m partial to lot 34 over lot 37. Just the initial first impression. I’m may be totally wrong however.

Lot 34 is more of what I like.

Nephew & I have been working on them a LOT, to clean them up and KEEP them clean. No washing - still waayyy too cold. Snowed all day yesterday (no accumulation) and hitting freezing tonight. Sale group gets to stay in the barn or go out in a run area. VERY pampered right now!

The fact that you can keep those gals looking that pristine in the conditions you are dealing with makes you very deserving of a big hug.

Far and away some of the best Simmi females I've seen in a while! Femininity, depth, width. Honestly some of the only Simmis I've seen posted here that have correct rear leg structure. If I could change one thing, it would be those white feet (we don't need to all re-hash that topic, we all know how everyone feels about it now!), but that's super picky on a nice pair of young females! Congrats! :clap:

BJ - WOW - I really appreciate your comments. I highly respect your opinion. Now, let's hope some of the buyers agree. There will be about 9 fall heifers to compete for the buyers. I think mine are in the perfect condition. Several there will be overfed, but that catches a buyers eye.

Not to derail the topic but I'm curious to know the percentage of purebred Simmental versus full blood in those heifers. Hope that made sense. My lone experience with Simmental dates back to a PB yearling bull purchased in 1897. Sire was an Apricot x Seigfried cow...dam a Bar 11 Ueli. Calves out of Red & Blk Angus commercials were impressive and definitely mashed the scales down. Downside was dicey calving ease & disposition. Replacement heifers were powerful with excellent udders.

Good question. The black heifer was frozen embryos that I purchased, and her dam & sire are 3/4 - so she is a 3/4 blood - 1/4 Black Angus.
Red heifer is purebred (not fullblood). On the dam side, only purebred sires have been used going back 40 years?? Would have been Fullbloods in the beginning. I couldn't tell you what miniscular amount of Angus might be in her.

Well, the verdict is in.
The red one was the crowd pleaser, bringing $5000. The black fall heifer brought $3000. My red cow/calf brought $5000.
It was a great sale.
