Talking about making money on cattle.Unfortunately, I did not participate in this past Falls internet auction.....but I will next year! I just received the news letter with my breed associations (MGIA)annual report.Get a load of this!

"The fall 2005 internet auction was a big success! The average price of purebred open heifers wa $2,193.00. Average for bred heifers was $2,825.00. A bred cow with heifer calf at foot brought $3,500.00, and the average for weaned bull calves was $1,715.00. Ten embryos sold for $400.00 each, and a bred cow brought $3,355.00."

Not bad for a breed that does not have the marketing power of the Angus, or the breed recognition of the continentals!

Murray Greys are like the Jeffersons, "we're movin' on up! ;-) :cboy: :) :D
