Grill/brush guards are just about standard equipment in so. Texas. I've never heard of anyone having a problen with a F-150.Z

The lighter ones at the shops don't deflect deer very well. They do save your front end tho. Just be prepared to replace them each time a deer runs into you cause they are going to get tore up.
If you get one as a deer deflector that will hold up, it is very heavy. I wouldn't put that on a 1/2 ton. Just get one of the little chrome jobs.

I didn't think the bumpers on our '03 Dodge were that strong until I got rear ended by a Chevy doing 80. Just had to straghten the brackets on it and give it a new paint job. Didn't even scratch the front one when I got knocked into the truck in front of me.
